By Christmas 2009, 11,400 Happyland cards had been sent throughout the mainland of Australia, Tasmania, even to England, a mission in Bangladesh and India.
The success of the cards is due to the many creative ways people are using them to spread the Good News of Christmas and as a form of outreach; in gift bags for children in the Mall QLD, for attendees at Loxton's Little Town Nativity performances, for children to give away to other children whilst performing with Kid's Club Carol singing in the community, for the Outreach Care centre in Port Pirie, and for a local Family Day Care Centre.
Parents and grandparents sent the special cards to children in their lives, and kids were able to send them to each other. Schools, kindergartens, Sunday Schools, Kids Clubs and congregations ordered large quantities of the cards to hand out to children at Christmas Eve Services, to give to children at schools attached to congregations, to families of all children baptized during the year, and for children's activity packs for the Church services over the Christmas period. Many groups even needed to request extra, as the cards were so popular!
'Lutheran Media encourages everyone to start thinking about how you and your congregation, school or community group can use Happyland Christmas Cards for Christmas 2010 in your community,' said Pastor Richard Mau, Lutheran Media Ministry Director, 'Its never to early to start planning outreach in your community: One country town has placed an order for their 2010 letter box drop to their community and will be adding a sticker to them with their church service details.'
